About LAT : Development Division
The Division also specialises in capacity building small community groups interested in participating in crime reduction work. It does this through the projects Community Safety Advisory Service (CSAS), Black and Minority Ethnic Cracking Crime Project (BME-CCP) and FOTE. OverviewDevelopment work is a key activity of London Action Trust. We develop ideas, identify and bring together partners to manage projects that those ideas become, and we fundraise to make them a reality. By helping offenders to rehabilitate, we are in effect seeking to reduce or prevent crime and this is an area in which LAT has become increasingly involved. Key Areas of WorkFundraising & DevelopmentOur team of bid writers have extensive experience in approaching a variety of different funding sources. The process involves reviewing current provision in relation to crime reduction projects, identify gaps in that provision, drawing together appropriate partners to develop project ideas and ultimately writing bids in consultation with all relevant partners. Over the last 2 years we have raised nearly £3.5 million for fundraising and development work. These included applications to the Learning and Skills Council, The London Devlopment Agency and the Association of London Government. We are developing our crime and disorder reduction partnerships, by providing fundraising seminars, training events and exhibiting at various conferences. The expertise has been useful, providing advice on fundraising to community safety partnerships that need help in funding their crime reduction strategies, or assisting community and voluntary groups in having a part to play in reducing crime in their neighbourhoods. Second Tier ProjectsCommunity Safety Advisory Service (CSAS)CSAS co-ordinate, capacity build and develop voluntary sector and community organisations to enable their participation in crime reduction across London.
