Our Work: Resolve Project
The project comprises of the following strands:
- To raise awareness of the mediation approach, when dealing with conflict situations, across London.
- Promotion of and support to Capital Conflict Mediation service and other mediation service providers.
- Resolving Conflicts Workshops will be delivered to young people 11-19 years old in Enfield, Islington, Waltham Forest, Haringey and Newham
- Community Focus groups will also be held in the boroughs outlined above.
The project will be delivered from April 2009 to March 2013.
Services to be delivered:
- Delivery of Resolving Conflicts workshops
- Development of community focus groups to reinforce the themes of mediation.
Beneficiary Eligibility Criteria
Young people referred to attend the workshops must be:
- Be aged between 11 and 19 years old
- And be Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET)
- Or at risk of involvement in gang culture, gun or knife crime.
Potential referral agencies
Examples of agencies who would benefit from referring their clients include*:
- Youth Offending Teams
- Social Services
- Schools and Pupil Referral Units
- Police intervention projects
- Connexions
- Youth Clubs and other organisations
*Example only. All agencies are welcome to refer clients into this project providing beneficiaries meet the eligibility criteria.
