Our Work: V Mentoring Project
Our
Volunteering and mentoring project works with young ex-offenders or
young people at risk of offending. Participants receive training to
be mentors to 13-17 year olds at risk of offending.
V encourages projects that promote personal development and accreditation
to give young people, from diverse backgrounds, the chance to improve
their skills and employability through volunteering.
The V Mentoring Project aims to:
- Enable 18-25 year old ex-offenders in London to undertake quality
peer mentoring training and activities
- Increase their skills and employability
- Promote a positive relationship and role models for 13-17 year
olds in London at risk of offending.
This will be achieved by:
- Delivering accredited Peer Mentoring training
- Matching and managing the mentoring relationship between volunteers
and beneficiaries
- Providing employability support to volunteers
- Providing educational support and signposting for beneficiaries.
